Bristol City’s postponed home fixture against Reading in the FA Women’s Super League has been rearranged the club have announced via their official website.
The Robins were scheduled to take on Kelly Chambers’ Royals at The Stoke Gifford Stadium on Sunday 9 February but the match was postponed just a few hours before kick-off in the interests of player safety with Storm Ciara battering the country with rain and high winds.
It has now been reported that the fixture has been rearranged for Sunday 10 May. That weekend in Women’s FA Cup final weekend, however, both clubs have already been dumped out of the competition.
The reverse fixture at The Madejski Stadium in November produced a classic FA Women’s Super League encounter with the two sides playing their parts in a thrilling 3-3 draw. Reading were 3-1 up before goals from Yana Daniels and Ebony Salmon rescued a point for the visitors in-front of a healthy crowd in Berkshire.
Bristol City may need a result from their rearranged fixture against Reading with The Robins continuing to fight a relegation battle. A 1-0 victory at Birmingham City last time out helped the club climb off the bottom of the FA Women’s Super League table but Tanya Oxtoby’s side remain some way from safety.
