Bristol City confirm new deals for first team duo

Bristol City have confirmed this morning that two of their first team players have signed new deals.

The Robins are still in limbo over their continued FA Women’s Super League status for next season with the current campaign having been halted due to the Coronavirus. Bristol City remain in relegation trouble but regardless of what the remainder of this season’s schedule holds, the club are pressing on with their long term plans.

Bristol City have announced that forward Yana Daniels has signed on again at the Stoke Gifford Stadium for next season. The 27-year-old Belgian hotshot returned to Bristol City last summer following a spell with the club’s FA Women’s Super League rivals Liverpool and has played an important role for The Robins manager Tanya Oxtoby.

There has been a double dose of good news for Bristol City fans this morning with the club having also announced that long-serving defender Jas Matthews has extended her contract with the club. The 26-year-old Truro-born centre-back very much has Bristol City in her veins with the player having spent her entire career with The Robins barring a one-season spell with Liverpool.

Both players could still have a part to play in their club’s battle for survival this season should the current FA Women’s Super League campaign resume later in the year.
