Arsenal goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin has revealed that she is recovering from contracting the Covid-19 virus during an interview with former France international forward Elodie Thomis.
The 28-year-old Lyon-born stopper is understood to have been floored by the illness shortly after returning to Arsenal following international duty with France earlier this month.
An interview which was broadcast on former Lyon striker Thomas’ Instagram account late last night saw Peyraud-Magnin confirm that she has had the Covid-19 virus after experiencing several of the symptoms including fever, cold, a headache, respiratory problems, fatigue and a loss of taste and smell.

All Arsenal players are self-isolating as a result of the government instructions issued to all UK residents last week and Peyraud-Magnin is edging towards making a complete recovery from her illness, two weeks on from initially displaying symptoms. It is unknown whether any of her teammates have also contracted the virus.
Payraud-Magnin joined Arsenal from European champions Lyon in summer 2018 for an undisclosed fee and went on to lift the FA Women’s Super League title in her first season with The Gunners. The keeper has largely been playing as understudy to Austrian international Manuela Zinsberger this season since her arrival from Bayern Munich last summer.
