Brighton & Hove Albion pair recovering well from long term injuries

Brighton & Hove Albion pair Laura Rafferty and Ellie Brazil are understood to be recovering well from their long term injuries according to reports on the club’s official website.

Defender Rafferty has missed the entire campaign with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury while teammate Brazil has been sidelined since mid-November with a similar problem.

The latest news on the recoveries of both players is positive with Rafferty having resumed treadmill work while Brazil’s surgery has been completed and she can now focus on her rehabilitation.

Rafferty is expected to return to action by the time Brighton & Hove Albion begin their pre-season preparations for the 2020/2021 campaign whenever that may be. The player is unlikely to be rushed back into action should the current campaign resume in the summer once the threat of the Coronavirus crisis has hopefully reduced.

Forward Brazil has pencilled herself in for a September return. The new Barclays FA Women’s Super League season is set to begin during that month, although the start date could be pushed back due to the Coronavirus crisis meaning that the player may have further available recovery time.

Brighton & Hove Albion are currently in ninth position in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table. They have six games left to play this season.
