Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club are proud to announce that three of our wonderful members are representing our supporters’ club by participating in the ‘100k in May’ event to raise money for the Darby Rimmer Foundation.
The foundation does amazing work for people who suffer from Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and it’s co-founder is Stephen Darby who has been diagnosed with the disease himself.
Stephen is Manchester City skipper Steph Houghton’s husband so naturally, this is a cause that is incredibly close to the hearts of all fans of the club.
Many players and fans are taking part in the ‘100k in May’ event, covering the distance over the course of the month by running, walking or cycling and we were keen for the OSC to be represented in such a deserving cause. Members Louise McCluskie and father and daughter Simon and Akalyna Boynton have volunteered to take on the challenge on behalf of our OSC and we are extremely proud of them for doing so.
We have already taken a number of incredibly generous donations on our JustGiving page as we try to raise as much money as we can. If you are able to support our fundraising, please donate by clicking here. Any amount, no matter how large or small, is appreciated as every donation counts in the fight against this disease.
We will be keeping you all updated on Team Manchester City Women OSC’s progress and our donations as the month goes on via our social media channels and in our weekly FA Women’s Super League Full-Time updates.
Sending our thanks to Louise, Simon and Akalyna and we wish them good luck along with anyone else who is taking part in the ‘100k in May’.
