The numbers behind defender’s first season back at Arsenal

Scottish international defender Jen Beattie returned to Arsenal last summer after six years away from Meadow Park during which she represented Montpellier, Melbourne City and Manchester City.

The 29-year-old Glasgow-born centre-back was a hugely popular figure with the Arsenal fans from her initial spell with the club, a period in which The Gunners dominated the women’s game in England.

FA Women’s Super League Full-Time take a look at the statistics behind Beattie’s latest season in North London as we summarise her campaign so far ‘in numbers’.

5 – Upon re-joining Arsenal last summer, Beattie was handed the number five shirt for the 2019/2020 season.

9 – Beattie has made nine starts for Arsenal in this season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

6 – In the nine games in which Beattie has started in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, Arsenal have kept six clean sheets.

1 – In her 19 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions so far this season, Beattie has been on the losing side just once, that being the 2-1 defeat at Chelsea in October.

821 – Beattie has played 821 minutes of league football this season, that’s more than any of her previous campaigns with The Gunners.

0 – Arsenal have not conceded a goal in any of the five games in which Beattie has played in the domestic cups this season.

2 – The defender has been a substitute on two occasions in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, coming off the bench as Arsenal defeated Liverpool 3-2 in Chester in February.

90 – Beattie played the full 90 minutes as she made her second Arsenal debut in a 2-1 victory over West Ham United at Meadow Park in September.

Beattie initially joined the North Londoners from Celtic in 2009 and she spent four years with Arsenal before moving to French club Montpellier.
