Tottenham Hotspur announce departure of quartet

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Chloe Morgan, Sophie McLean, Coral-Jade Haines and Megan Wynne have left the club according to reports on Spurs’ official website.

The quartet were all out of contract this summer and therefore leave the North Londoners after becoming free agents.

Goalkeeper Chloe Morgan has enjoyed two spells with Spurs and has played her part in the club’s rise from the third tier to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League. The Leytonstone-born stopper made three appearances for Karen Hills and Juan Amoros’ side in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this season, including two from the bench.

Midfielder McLean has also been on Spurs’ books for a long period of time. She joined the club’s youth ranks in 2013 and has also been part of the club’s success in recent years. The player has found life in the top flight particularly tough with McLean only making the bench on two occasions for Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches.

Attacking midfielder Haines has spent the last three years with Spurs after initially joining the club on loan from Birmingham City. The player has gone on to make 38 league appearances for Hills and Amoros’ side in which she has scored five goals.

Welsh international Wynne started the current campaign with Spurs but was loaned out to Bristol City in a bid to find regular first team football. The player continued to struggle for game time at the Stoke Gifford Stadium, although she did net her first-ever senior international goal for Wales in March.

The quartet leave The Hive with the best wishes of their managers.
