Bristol City forward Ebony Salmon has signed a contract extension at the club for the upcoming season according to reports on The Robins’ official website.
The 19-year-old signed for The Robins last summer after departing her parent club Manchester United where she saw little opportunities to flourish. Signing for Bristol City brought her a wealth of opportunities to impress, as she became a stellar signing for the club in her first season in the top flight of women’s football. The striker led The Robins’ goalscoring charts with eight goals in all competitions this season as she helped the club record a 10th place finish in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table.
The youngster has taken the Barclays FA Women’s Super League by storm, scoring important goals against the likes of Liverpool, Reading, Manchester United and Birmingham City, those strikes against the latter two opponents being winning goals.
Salmon is at home either playing as a forward and as a winger. She is renowned for her strength and speed which has helped Tanya Oxtoby’s side climb off the bottom of the table before the season was cut short. The striker has also impressed at various youth levels for England, scoring an impressive nine goals in 14 appearances for the Under-17s and eight goals in 12 appearances for the Under-19s.
Salmon has dazzled all season for Bristol City and manager Oxtoby is delighted to have retained her services for next season.
