Bristol City defender Gemma Evans will remain with the club for the 2020/2021 campaign after The Robins opted to take up an option to extend her contract by a further year.
The 23-year-old Welsh international defender joined Bristol City in summer 2018 following a spell with Yeovil Town.
Evans has played an important role during her time at the Stoke Gifford Stadium and the club have today announced via their official website that they have extended the player’s contract by a further year.
The defender has featured in 12 of Bristol City’s 14 matches in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this season, helping The Robins to two clean sheets. Evans has also made seven appearances for her club in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup and Women’s FA Cup.
Evans started her career at home in Wales with Cardiff City where she spent the first two years of her senior playing career before moving to Yeovil Town who she represented in the FA Women’s Super League 1. Since joining The Lady Glovers’ rivals Bristol City, Evans has become a popular figure in the dressing room and with the club’s fans.
The player joins Carla Humphrey and Ebony Salmon in having her contract extended for next season.
