Danish international Katrine Veje has confirmed that she is leaving Arsenal in a post on her personal Instagram account this evening.
The 28-year-old utility player has spent the last 18 months with The Gunners after joining the club midway through last season.
Veje’s contract at Meadow Park is due to expire this month and the player had been tipped to leave Arsenal. The Dane has taken to her Instagram account to confirm her departure this evening while she has thanked players, staff and fans for their support during her time in England.
It has been an injury-plagued spell in North London for Veje with the player having failed to make an appearance for The Gunners in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this season while she has been named a substitute on just two occasions. The player did manage eight league outings for Joe Montemurro’s side in 2018/2019 as The Gunners went on to lift the title for the first time in seven years.
Prior to her 18 months with Arsenal, Veje has spent most of her career playing in Scandinavia and the player’s next move could well be to a club in one of the three kingdoms. The majority of Veje’s appearances came during two spells with Danish club Brondby IF.
Veje follows fellow first team players Louise Quinn and Pauline Peyraud-Magnin out of the Arsenal exit door.
