London Bees forward confirms departure

London Bees forward Nikita Whinnett has confirmed that she is leaving the club this summer.

The 29-year-old joined The Bees last summer and she has enjoyed a successful campaign with Lee Burch’s side.

Whinnett netted an impressive four goals in 10 appearances for The Bees in the FA Women’s Championship as they recorded a best-ever finish of fifth position in the second tier. The forward made 16 appearances in total for The Bees with Whinnett also playing a part in her club’s participation in both the FA Women’s Continental League Cup and Women’s FA Cup.

Unfortunately for London Bees fans, Whinnett’s time at The Hive has come to an end with the player announcing via her Twitter account this evening that she will be leaving the club this summer.

Whinnett joined London Bees from their city rivals Crystal Palace who she helped battle to safety in their first season in the FA Women’s Championship. The player has represented a number of clubs during her career including Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

The forward has not yet revealed where she will be playing her football next season.
