Liverpool forward Kirsty Linnett has signed a contract extension with the club according to reports on The Reds’ official website.
Following the opening of transfer window, fans will be eyeing potential new arrivals, however, the good news at Liverpool of late has involved current players dedicating their futures to the club with Linnett being the latest to do so.
Linnett made the move to Merseyside from Reading back in 2018 and she has so far accumulated 36 appearances for her current club, scoring six goals in that time.
Despite the setback of The Reds’ relegation to the second tier, the forward has no doubt that Liverpool is the club for her. Upon signing her new deal at Prenton Park, Linnett told Liverpool’s official media channels “I think what we have at the club, among teammates and staff, what we’ve created is something special.
“It’s nice to be a part of. It’s a fantastic club and I’m looking forward to next year.”
With the Liverpool having been relegated from the top flight on a points per game basis, fans have been waiting with baited breath to see just how different the team will look next season. It has also been announced today that Niamh Charles is not extending her stay with Liverpool and she joins what seems like many others who have already headed for the exit door.
It is certain that there will be many more comings and goings at Liverpool before Vicky Jepson’s side begin their promotion quest in September.
