Former Manchester City midfielder Daphne Corboz has joined Paris FC according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 27-year-old America-born midfielder has been playing her football with Paris FC’s Division 1 Feminine rivals FC Fleury 91 since 2017.
Corboz recently announced her FC Fleury 91 departure and it has today been revealed that she is remaining in the French top flight by joining Paris FC.
The capital club finished two places above Corboz’s former side in 2019/2020. Paris FC were fifth in the Division 1 Feminine, only behind Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain, Bordeaux and Montpellier. The Parisians have much work to do to close the gap on those sides above them in the table but the signing of Corboz will certainly bolster Sandrine Soubeyrand’s squad at the Stade Robert Bobin.
Corboz started her senior career with English club Manchester City in 2015. The player spent 18 months in the City first team before joining American club Sky Blue FC. The midfielder was an FA Women’s Super League 1 title winner during her time at The Academy Stadium.
Despite being born in America, Corboz qualifies to play for France and it is the European nation which seems to now be where the midfielder calls home after settling well into lift in French football’s top flight.
