Welsh international midfielder Ffion Morgan has left FA Women’s Championship club Coventry United after spending one season at the Butts Park Arena.
The 20-year-old former Ammanford and Cardiff City player moved to Warwickshire last August as Coventry United began life in the second tier of the women’s game.
Morgan made quite an impression for the club. She made 11 appearances for Coventry United in the FA Women’s Championship as the club achieved their pre-season goal of avoiding finishing the campaign at the bottom of the table. Only a handful of Coventry United players made more league appearances than Morgan throughout the 2019/2020 campaign.
It has today been reported that Morgan’s time as a Coventry United player has sadly come to an end. The club have confirmed the player’s departure on their official Twitter account.
We would like to thank Ffion for her service last season and wish her every success for the future 🙏 pic.twitter.com/iYC68TCGUD

After starting out at Ammanford, Morgan suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury which significantly hindered her progress as a senior player. A successful spell with Cardiff City followed before the player impressed when given a trial by Coventry United, going on to sign a permanent contract with the club.
Morgan is keen to test herself at the highest level possible and it will be fascinating to see where she will play her football next season as she looks to take another step forward in her development.
