Full-back Bryson pens two-year extension with Bristol City

Bristol City’s 22-year-old defender Faye Bryson has committed herself to The Robins until summer 2022 according to reports on the club’s official website.

Bryson joined Tanya Oxtoby’s side in January of this year from Everton and was a standout player in her first five appearances with the side before the season was brought to an abrupt end.

It is clear that Bryson has been enjoying her football with her new club and she had no doubts over extending her contract for the long term.

After signing her new deal she said “I’m delighted to sign a two-year deal here at Bristol City.

“The club, my teammates and coaches have allowed me to enjoy my football again and that means the world to me.

“I can’t wait to build on the hard work we’ve put in and hit the ground running come the start of the new season.”

With newly-promoted Aston Villa likely to pose a bigger threat than Liverpool did last season and clubs above like Brighton & Hove Albion set to strengthen, the fight for survival could be even tougher and tighter next time around. Bristol City finished 10th last season, narrowly avoiding relegation but there were signs that the club are moving in the right direction as they steadily progressed going into the home straight.

While there have been several notable outgoings so far this summer at the Stoke Gifford Stadium including the likes of Poppy Pattinson, Katie Robinson, and Olivia Chance, fans will be pleased to see a growing retained list with Bryson being the latest addition.
