Norwegian international right-back Ingrid Moe Wold has completed a move to Barclays FA Women’s Super League club Everton according to reports on The Blue Girls’ official website.
The player moves to Merseyside on a free transfer after leaving Spanish club Madrid CFF and she has signed a two-year deal at Walton Hall Park.
Wold moved to former club Madrid CFF in January of this year but only featured six times before the season was prematurely cut short.
The 30-year-old defender is an established international and has represented her nation at the last two FIFA Women’s World Cups. She has accumulated 70 appearances for Norway since making her senior debut in 2012. Wold made a name for herself in her homeland in a decade of dominance with LSK Kvinner where she played in 195 consecutive matches for the Lillestrom-based side.
The departure of star player Chloe Kelly would undoubtedly have been a real blow to Everton this summer, however, manager Willie Kirk hasn’t wasted any time licking his wounds. Wold is Kirk’s second signing of the summer window thus far, having already brought in former Bristol City full-back Poppy Pattinson to bolster the defence. Everton seem to be moving in the right direction with a little under two months to go before the start of the new campaign.
