Brighton & Hove Albion manager Hope Powell has completed her second signing of the summer in striker Katie Robinson according to reports on The Seagulls’ official website.
The 17-year-old England youth international forward moves to The People’s Pension Stadium on a free transfer after leaving former club Bristol City earlier this summer.
Former boss Tanya Oxtoby wanted to retain Robinson at Bristol City for the coming season but the player opted to leave the Stoke Gifford Stadium in favour of a fresh challenge.
It has today been revealed that the striker has joined Brighton & Hove Albion. Robinson follows Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Katie Startup in signing for The Seagulls this summer.
After making her senior debut for Bristol City in October 2018, Robinson went on to make 17 first team appearances for The Robins. She scored her first goal as Bristol City defeated Aston Villa 5-2 in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup in 2018 while the player later netted two further goals for Oxtoby’s side.
Robinson joins a Brighton & Hove Albion side who scored just two goals more than her former club in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League last season despite playing two additional games. With the Sussex club in desperate need of goals, Robinson’s Brighton & Hove Albion success is likely to be measured on her ability to find the back of the net.
