French international forward Valerie Gauvin is being linked with a move to Barclays FA Women’s Super League club Everton.
Reports by French media outlet L’Equipe are indicating that the player could be set to seal an imminent move to Walton Hall Park with The Blue Girls paying close to £100,000 for her services.
Gauvin currently plays her football with French club Montpellier HSC but she is said to be keen to progress her development by playing overseas. Should the move to Everton become reality, the 24-year-old would become the latest big name arrival in Willie Kirk’s ever-improving squad.
The striker started her career with Toulouse, a club which she joined when she was just 12 years of age. Just four years later, she found herself playing senior football for the club. In 2014, Gauvin joined Montpellier HSC and the player has gone on to make almost a century of appearances for the club.
On the international stage, Gauvin made her senior debut for France in their 2-1 defeat to The Netherlands in October 2015. The player has gone on to hit 14 goals in 30 appearances for Les Bleues. Gauvin made two appearances for France at the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019.
Barclays FA Women’s Super League club Everton have already signed four players with international experience this summer and if reports in the French media are accurate, they could be on the verge of increasing that tally.
