Charlton Athletic attacker Ellie Dorey has signed a new contract with the club for the 2020/2021 campaign according to reports on The Addicks’ official website.
The 24-year-old was a regular in the Charlton Athletic side last season as the club retained their FA Women’s Championship status with the third tier having been declared void following the initial suspension due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Dorey appeared in 11 of The Addicks’ 12 fixtures in the second tier, netting her only goal in the 2-2 draw at Sheffield United. The player was also utilised by manager Riteesh Mishra in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup and Women’s FA Cup.
With Dorey being an important member of the Charlton Athletic squad, it has today been confirmed that she has signed a new contract with the club. She becomes the fifth member of The Addicks’ 2019/2020 squad to sign on again for the new season.
The forward started her career with Brighton & Hove Albion before making the switch to Charlton Athletic where she has helped the club establish themselves in the second tier. The player was restricted to just three appearances in the club’s first season in the FA Women’s Championship before going on to enjoy a greater role last season.
