Lewes have completed the signing of former loanee Laura Hartley from Barclays FA Women’s Super League club Brighton & Hove Albion according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 19-year-old goalkeeper spent time on loan at The Dripping Pan last season and has returned to the club ahead of the new campaign.
Hartley made one appearance for Lewes which came in their 3-0 defeat to the London City Lionesses at Princes Park October last year. She was also an unused substitute as The Rookettes fell to defeats to Aston Villa and Sheffield United.
During her time with Brighton & Hove Albion, Hartley has made just one first team appearance in the top flight which came in a 1-0 home defeat to Bristol City back in 2018. The player has also been named on the bench for The Seagulls on several occasions in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
Hartley becomes Lewes boss Simon Parker’s first signing of the summer. She will provide competition for the first choice goalkeeping jersey following the departure of Faye Baker earlier this summer. Lewes have confirmed that the player will wear the number 31 shirt.
Lewes boss Parker has also so far retained 12 members of his squad from the 2019/2020 season.
