Barclays FA Women’s Super League champions Chelsea will travel to the Leigh Sports Village to take on Manchester United on the opening day of the 2020/2021 season with the fixtures having been released by The Football Association this morning.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the early season 2020/2021 fixtures in an official press release from The Football Association this morning.

In the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, some of the other opening day highlights will see newly-promoted Aston Villa take on Manchester City at The Banks’s Stadium while Bristol City’s first game at Twerton Park could be against an Everton side who have invested heavily this summer should they opt to play the game in Bath. There is also the prospect of Reading players Danielle Carter and Emma Mitchell taking the field against former club Arsenal.

In the FA Women’s Championship, Liverpool will start life in the second tier against a well-respected Durham side at Prenton Park while two new managers will meet as Lisa Fallon’s London City Lionesses take on Sheffield United at Princes Park.

All matches will initially be played behind-closed-doors. Some Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches will be selected for live broadcast on BT Sport while other games from both the top tier and second tier can be streamed on the FA Player.
