FA Women’s Championship side Lewes have today announced via their official website that England youth international Hannah Griffin has joined the club for the 2020/2021 season.
The 19-year-old wide player arrives at The Dripping Pan from German side FC Saarbrücken whom she joined at the age of 15.
Griffin grew up in Luxembourg and began playing football for local side FC Munsbach. She represented the Luxembourg youth teams between the ages of 12 and 15 before making the decision to switch to England. Since the age of 16, Griffin has represented the Young Lionesses at Under-16, Under-17, and Under-19 levels.
The winger will be wearing the number 19 shirt in the red and black of Lewes this season which was recently vacated by Danielle Lane, who renewed her contract with the club last month. Griffin completes a quartet of summer signings at Lewes so far which also includes Georgia Timms and former Brighton & Hove Albion duo Laura Hartley and Ellie Hack.
Manager Simon Parker will be looking for his side to better last season’s eighth-place finish in the FA Women’s Championship this term. The Lewes boss continues to work hard in the transfer market to bring in quality new players to help the squad achieve that aim.
