West Ham United midfielder Julia Simic has sealed a move to Serie A Women side AC Milan according to reports on The Hammers’ official website.
The 31-year-old Furth-born midfielder joined West Ham United in 2018 in a move which saw Simic play her football outside of her native Germany for the first time in her career.
It has today been confirmed that Simic is leaving West Ham United with the player moving to Italy to join AC Milan.
During her time with The Hammers, the midfielder made 22 appearances for the club in all competitions while she has scored three goals. Five of her outings in claret and blue came in last season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League as Matt Beard’s side finished the campaign in eighth position on a points-per-game basis.
Simic started her career with German giants Bayern Munich. She went on to make over 100 appearances for the club, winning both the Frauen-Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal Frauen. In 2013, the midfielder moved to 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam before later enjoying spells with VfL Wolfsburg and SC Freiburg.
The twice-capped German international joined West Ham United for their debut campaign in the top flight with two Frauen-Bundesliga titles and four DFB-Pokal Frauen victories under her belt.
Simic becomes the eighth player to leave West Ham United this summer.
