Former England youth international signs on at London City Lionesses

Former England youth international forward Atlanta Primus has joined FA Women’s Championship club London City Lionesses according to reports on The Pride’s official website.

The 23-year-old becomes new London City Lionesses head coach Lisa Fallon’s fifth signing of the summer following the recent additions of Allison Murphy, Shae Yanez, Lilly Pursey and Hayley Nolan.

Primus returns to England following a spell in the United States. She spent time with California State University during her time Stateside. The forward was named in the Big West Regional Team and was the programme all-time assist leader in 2019. Primus was also the captain of her side.

The player spent the early years of her career with Chelsea who she briefly represented in the top flight before moving to Yeovil Town in 2016.

On the international stage, Primus has appeared for England at Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 levels. She hasn’t featured in the England set up since 2016.

Primus joins a London City Lionesses side who hold long term ambitions of joining England’s elite. The Pride kick-off the 2020/2021 FA Women’s Championship season against Sheffield United at Princes Park on Sunday in a game which could see two of the ‘promotion-chasers’ going head-to-head.

London City Lionesses finished in fourth position in the table last season in what was their debut campaign as a club.
