England boss Neville hands first call-ups to septet

England boss Phil Neville has handed first senior international call-ups to no less than seven players for this month’s training camp at St George’s Park.

The Lionesses’ 30-player group will meet in Burton-upon-Trent next Tuesday for a seven-day training camp which will include an in-house practice match between all members of the squad.

The Football Association announced the squad for the upcoming camp via their official website this morning with seven players receiving their first senior call-ups. Those appearing in the squad for the very first time are defenders Esme Morgan,  Millie Turner, and Lotte Wubben-Moy, midfielders Niamh Charles, Ella Toone and Katie Zelem and forward Rinsola Babajide.

England boss Neville has opted against naming any players in his squad who would face potential quarantine as a result of travel restrictions under the UK Government’s ever-changing legislation.

The Lionesses have not been in action since they participated in March’s SheBelieves Cup in the United States. The Football Association recently announced that Neville’s side will face Germany in Wiesbaden next month while it is thought that initial talks could be ongoing regarding other autumn internationals, although those plans may be subject to change with UK Coronavirus cases on the increase again.
