Wales will need to be aware of the international form of Chelsea midfielder Guro Reiten when they take on Norway in Oslo in their latest UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 qualifier on Tuesday evening.
The 26-year-old has three goals and four assists in just four qualifying matches to date with Norway boasting a perfect record with a maximum points return. Reiten scored one and created two goals for her side in their last qualifying match against Northern Ireland in November 2019, a game they won 6-0.
With Wales trailing Martin Sjogren’s side by four points with half of their qualifying matches remaining, Tuesday’s meeting in the Norwegian capital holds huge importance and midfielder Reiten is one of a handful of threats to the visitors’ qualification hopes.
The Chelsea midfielder made her senior international debut back in early 2014 against Spain. Reiten has since gone on to collect a half-century of senior caps while she has netted nine goals, all of which have been scored in competitive matches.
Norway are currently the third-highest scorers in qualifying with 32 goals with Reiten having been directly involved in over a fifth of those goals. Only three nations have had more shots on target and the threat of Norway really cannot be underestimated.
