Dutch international midfielder Jill Roord has not been selected in Joe Montemurro’s Arsenal squad for this evening’s North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at Meadow Park in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup quarter-finals.
The 23-year-old has netted hat-tricks in both of Arsenal’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixtures so far this season, climbing to the top of the goalscoring charts.
Roord picked up a knock whilst away on international duty with The Netherlands and has not made the Arsenal squad for this evening’s North London derby with Spurs. The Gunners boss Montemurro advised in midweek that Roord would be assessed upon her return from the KNVB campus and she has seemingly been deemed unfit to feature in this evening’s match as she looks to shake off a minor injury.
The Vitality Women’s FA Cup’s most successful club are bidding to win a place in yet another semi-final with victory over Karen Hills and Juan Amoros’ Spurs side in Boreham Wood this evening. The winners of the tie will travel to either Manchester City or Leicester City in midweek.
American international Alex Morgan has been named on the bench for opponents Spurs and could make her debut for the club at Meadow Park this evening.
The Vitality Women’s FA Cup quarter-final between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur kicks-off at 5.15pm and will be screened live on BBC Two.
