Tottenham Hotspur have revealed that goalkeeper Aurora Mikalsen will be out of action for up to three months.
The 24-year-old Norwegian international stopper joined Spurs on a free transfer in the summer after leaving the club’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League rivals Manchester United.
Mikalsen was named amongst the Spurs substitutes as they drew 1-1 with West Ham United at The Hive on opening day but has since sustained an ankle injury. The North Londoners have today provided fans with an update on the keeper’s fitness via their official Twitter account with the club confirming that Mikalsen will not return to training until December.

Given the fact that the player will need to build up her fitness, combined with the winter break, it seems unlikely that Mikalsen will be seen again in Spurs’ matchday squad until early 2021.
Mikalsen first made the move to England when she joined former club Manchester United in summer 2019 ahead of Casey Stoney’s side’s maiden campaign in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
The player’s solitary United appearance came in an 11-1 victory over second tier side Leicester City at The Leigh Sports Village in the group stage of the FA Women’s Continental League Cup late last year.
Despite largely being used as a back up by United boss Stoney, Mikalsen left the club with plenty of praise. The player will be frustrated by the fact that her recent injury has restricted her opportunity to show her new coaches Karen Hills and Juan Amoros just how good she can be.
