Tottenham Hotspur have agreed professional terms with teenage midfielder Elisha Sulola according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 19-year-old broke onto the senior scene at the North London club last season and the youngster is rated very highly by Spurs’ joint-head coaches Karen Hills and Juan Amoros.
Sulola has made two appearances for the senior Spurs side to date in both the FA Women’s Continental League Cup and the Vitality Women’s FA Cup. With Tottenham Hotspur set to get their 2020/2021 FA Women’s Continental League Cup campaign up and running against London City Lionesses next week, the club have revealed that midfielder Sulola has signed her first professional deal at The Hive. The player will now be aiming to be involved for her side certainly in the upcoming group games in English football’s tertiary competition.
The quality in the Spurs first team squad has further increased this summer, making it harder for young players such as Sulola to break through. If opportunities come her way in the domestic cups this season, she must take them with both hands and look to impress if she is to one day become a regular starter in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League for her club.
Sulola made her senior debut in Spurs’ 6-0 rout of Lewes last December while she was also fielded by Hills and Amoros against Barnsley in the fourth round of the 2019/2020 Vitality Women’s FA Cup.
