Everton recorded their biggest victory of the season so far at The Banks’s Stadium yesterday as they handed out a 6-0 thrashing to newly-promoted Aston Villa.
The Blue Girls were deadly out wide with both Hayley Raso and Claire Emslie helping themselves to braces and providing assists while replacement winger Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah was also on-target along with French international Valerie Gauvin.
It was a near-perfect performance from the Merseyside club and one which will undoubtedly have sent out a message to the remainder of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
Willie Kirk’s squad were naturally delighted with the victory and after the match, some of them took to Twitter to give their views on the result. Here is what they had to say both on collecting their latest three points and on what has been a superb week for the club.

Everton fans and players are waking up to a great sight this morning with the club at the top of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table. Arsenal will replace them at the summit should they defeat Bristol City later today but that won’t matter too much to The Blue Girls, they look the part this season and there is no doubt that they can mix it with the elite.
Last weekend saw Everton end a nine-match losing streak against the ‘top three’ by seeing off Chelsea in their Vitality Women’s FA Cup quarter-final tie at Goodison Park. The Blue Girls have a further opportunity to prove their quality when they take on another elite side in Manchester City in midweek in the group stage of the FA Women’s Continental League Cup.
