Bristol City’s postponed Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Aston Villa has been rearranged as reported on the club’s official website.
The Robins were set to take on Gemma Davies’ newly-promoted Villa side at Twerton Park on Sunday 11 October but the match was called off due to a positive Covid-19 test in the visitors’ camp.
The match would have been a real nail-biting affair with both clubs having made poor starts to the 2020/2021 Barclays FA Women’s Super League season, they are still searching for their first wins.
It has today been reported that the two clubs have agreed a date of Wednesday 9 December for the rearranged fixture with the match kicking-off at Twerton Park in Bath at 7.30pm. The fixture is one of four which both clubs will play in a hectic December schedule before the Christmas break.
Bristol City are currently propping up the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table after losing all four of their opening matches, scoring just one goal and conceding 20 in the process. Aston Villa are just one place above Tanya Oxtoby’s side having also lost all of their opening matches.
Following the international break, Bristol City will return to Barclays FA Women’s Super League action at Manchester City on 7 November while Aston Villa travel to Brighton & Hove Albion the following day.
