PREVIEW: Chelsea v West Ham United

Chelsea will be hoping to continue their push for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League title when they take on London rivals West Ham United at Kingsmeadow on Sunday.

The Blues boast one of two remaining unbeaten records in this season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League. They come up against a West Ham United side this weekend who are without a manager following the recent departure of former boss Matt Beard.

Chelsea welcome a limited number of fans back to Kingsmeadow for the London derby. Those attending could see forward Fran Kirby make her return from injury while midfielder Ji So-yun will become the first overseas player to chalk up 100 Barclays FA Women’s Super League appearances should she feature. Blues boss Emma Hayes is not thought to have any new injury concerns to contend with ahead of the match.

Goalkeeping coach Billy Stewart and first-team coach Paul McHugh will lead the West Ham United team at Kingsmeadow this weekend. The Hammers have collected just four points so far this season, although it should be noted that all of those points have come on their travels. The East Londoners have bad memories of last season’s fixture, they went down 8-0 on what was a difficult afternoon for the club.

Chelsea’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against West Ham United is scheduled to kick-off at 12.30pm on Sunday afternoon and will be available for fans to watch live on the BBC Red Button and to stream on the FA Player.
