Brighton & Hove Albion manager Hope Powell has confirmed that midfielder Denise O’Sullivan will be returning to parent club North Carolina Courage after Sunday’s fixture against Reading.
The 26-year-old joined The Seagulls on a short-term loan deal in September which runs until the end of 2020.
In her pre-match press conference, in which FA Women’s Super League Full-Time were present, Albion boss Powell confirmed that O’Sullivan’s loan deal will not be extended and she will play her last game for the club against Reading at The People’s Pension Stadium on Sunday.
The Republic of Ireland international has featured in eight of Albion’s nine Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches so far this season, helping her side to record a spirited 2-2 draw at Everton and a 1-0 away victory at West Ham United. Only six Albion players have clocked up more league minutes than O’Sullivan so far this season therefore she will be missed by the club during the second half of the campaign.
O’Sullivan’s loan move to Brighton & Hove Albion has seen her play Barclays FA Women’s Super League football for the very first time in her career. She has previously spent most of her career playing in her homeland, the United States and Australia.
Albion fans will have an opportunity to see O’Sullivan in a blue and white shirt one final time on Sunday with tickets available for the club’s home fixture against Reading in Crawley.
