PREVIEW: Tottenham Hotspur v Birmingham City

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to leapfrog Birmingham City in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table when the pair meet at The Hive tomorrow afternoon.

Both sides have nine points with Birmingham City boasting a better goal difference and having played a game less than Spurs.

Spurs go into the match on the back of recording consecutive victories over Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League under the guidance of new head coach Rehanne Skinner. The club have completed two signings ahead of the match, making the loan deals for defender Shelina Zadorsky and midfielder Alanna Kennedy permanent.

Birmingham City boss Carla Ward added Sheffield United forward Veatriki Sarri this week for an undisclosed fee but her squad remains wafer-thin and much-depleted by a catalogue of injuries. It is understood that Birmingham City had just 10 fit players this week, although the number could increase by two by the time the Blues travel to The Hive. Despite calls to have the match against Spurs postponed, Birmingham City have been instructed to play the fixture.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Birmingham City is scheduled to take place at 2pm on tomorrow afternoon and will be available for fans to stream live on the FA Player.
