United States head coach Vlatko Andonovski has told FA Women’s Super League Full-Time that Abby Dahlkemper, Sam Mewis and Rose Lavelle will return to Manchester City after tomorrow night’s friendly fixture against Colombia in Orlando, Florida.
The trio have missed Manchester City’s January fixtures due to being on international duty with the United States.
Dahlkemper, Mewis and Lavelle will again be missing on Sunday when Manchester City travel to Brighton & Hove Albion, however, they the trio will be returning to the club ahead of the next United States camp for the 2021 SheBelieves Cup.
FA Women’s Super League Full-Time asked United States head coach Andonovski about the plan for Dahlkemper, Mewis and Lavelle following the current international camp and he said “The Manchester City players will return.
“They (Manchester City) have a couple of important fixtures, one of them is against Manchester United, a team that has other US Women’s National Team players. I am sure that they are looking forward to that one.
“After that, they will be in camp (for the 2021 SheBelieves Cup) as well, if they get called up.”
Following this weekend’s trip to Brighton & Hove Albion, City host West Ham United at The Academy Stadium on 31 January. Gareth Taylor’s side then travel to Meadow Park to face Arsenal in their first game in February before that much-anticipated Manchester derby at The Academy Stadium on 12 February.
The United States’ first 2021 SheBelieves Cup fixture is against Canada on 19 February before Andonovski’s side face Brazil on 21 February and Japan on 25 February.
