Birmingham City’s fixture against Arsenal switched to St George’s Park

Sunday’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Birmingham City and Arsenal has been switched with the game now taking place at St George’s Park according to reports on the Blues’ official website.

Birmingham City’s fixture against Manchester City last weekend was set to be staged at their usual home of the SportNation.bet Stadium, however, The Football Association opted to switch the game to St George’s Park after the League’s Executive Operations Committee (EOC) deemed Solihull Moors FC as ‘not meeting requirements in the Rules and Regulations of the League’.

That decision left Birmingham City’s hopes of staging this weekend’s match against Arsenal at the SportNation.bet Stadium in doubt and it has today been confirmed that the game will take place in Burton upon Trent at St George’s Park.

It is understood that talks are ongoing between Birmingham City and The Football Association regarding the current situation. Head coach Carla Ward commented in the club’s press conference on Friday that her side enjoy playing their games in Solihull and that they see the venue as their home.

The Blues’ fixture against Arsenal is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm on Sunday afternoon and the game will be available for fans to stream live on the FA Player.
