Former Charlton Athletic midfielder Chloe Mustaki has joined Irish club Shelbourne for the 2021 Women’s National League season according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 25-year-old Republic of Ireland international has spent the last year on the sidelines recovering from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury but she will now look to make her long-awaited comeback with Shels.
Mustaki joins Shelbourne for the second time in her career with the player having previously enjoyed a spell at Tolka Park prior to her move to Charlton Athletic in 2019. The midfielder, who is also at home playing in a defensive role, made eight appearances in all competitions during her time with The Addicks before her injury, which was sustained whilst on international duty, prematurely ended her spell at The Oakwood.
The player joins a Shelbourne side who finished as runners-up in the shortened 2020 Women’s National League. Dave Bell’s side finished the 12-game campaign five points adrift of title winners Peamount United. Shels will be keen to kick on in 2021 and push to win the league title themselves and in-turn, gain an opportunity to play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Shelbourne kick-off the 2021 Women’s National League season against Athlone Town on 27 March.
