Manchester United’s teenage forward Ivana Fuso has been ruled out of action for the remainder of the season with an ankle injury, the club have confirmed.
The 19-year-old Salvador-born hotshot has made six appearances for Casey Stoney’s side this season, all of which have come from the bench.
Fuso’s latest appearance in a United shirt came last weekend as The Red Devils defeated Barclays FA Women’s Super League strugglers Aston Villa 3-0 at The Leigh Sports Village. The club have today confirmed via a post on their official Twitter account that Fuso has sustained an ankle injury which will see her sidelined for the remainder of the 2020/2021 campaign.

Fuso joined United from Swiss Nationalliga A club FC Basel last summer and the player went on to make her debut for The Red Devils in the 1-0 FA Women’s Continental League Cup defeat at Everton in December. The forward has been regularly involved for United since that maiden appearance and she will be frustrated that her progress has now been halted by injury.
Brazil head coach Pia Sundhage called Fuso up to the senior side for the first time for last month’s SheBelieves Cup and the player made two appearances for The Female Canaries at the tournament.
Fuso joins what seems like an ever-growing United injury list which includes the likes of Tobin Heath, Christen Press, Leah Galton and Lauren James.
