The top two sides in the FA Women’s Championship face-off in what is regarded as the biggest game of the season on Sunday as Durham welcome Leicester City to Maiden Castle.
Both teams sit on 38 points at the summit and are enjoying superb runs of form going into the business end of the season.
Durham have played a game more than their title rivals Leicester City and have a worse goal difference therefore they are arguably in greater need of the win to make sure that they are up there come the end of the season.
The two sides battled to a 2-2 draw at Farley Way back in October with The Foxes scoring a late equaliser through youngster Lachante Paul and this clash could bring up some more twists and turns.
Lee Sanders’ Durham side remain unbeaten this season, winning 11 games and drawing five. They have kept clean sheets in each of their last four games, continuing the streak with a 2-0 defeat of Blackburn Rovers last weekend.
As for Jonathan Morgan, he sees his Leicester City side come into the match off the back of a resounding 7-0 triumph over London Bees last time out and will be looking for his team to win their 11th match in a row in the league, a sequence dating back to early November.
This pivotal game will be available for fans to watch live via Durham’s official Facebook page. Kick-off is at 12pm on Sunday and the club are asking any fans who choose to watch the live stream to make a donation to #ENDCHILDFOODPOVERTY by clicking here.
