European football’s governing body UEFA have announced a multi-competition sponsorship deal with online food delivery firm Just Eat Takeaway.com.
It has been revealed that Just Eat Takeaway.com have agreed a deal to sponsor a number of men’s and women’s competitions in what UEFA have described as a ‘landmark deal’.
Just Eat Takeaway.com will become a hugely visible brand within the women’s game with the firm having acquired the sponsorship rights for the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022, as well as the UEFA Women’s Futsal EURO and the UEFA European Women’s Under-19 and Under-17 Championships. The deal will initially run for four years from summer 2021 to summer 2025.
Speaking following the announcement of the deal, Nadine Kessler, UEFA chief of women’s football said “This is such an exciting time to be connected with women’s football, which is growing at an incredible rate and we are delighted to have Just Eat Takeaway.com joining us for the next four years.
“The 2021/2022 season will see the women’s game move to new heights with the UEFA Women’s Champions League featuring a 16-team group stage as well as centralised marketing and TV coverage. Meanwhile, next year’s UEFA Women’s EURO in England promises to be our biggest national team competition yet.”
The Danish firm will become one of the leading faces of the home UEFA Women’s EUROs in 2022. The tournament will be staged at stadiums across England between 6-31 July 2022. The sponsorship deal with UEFA will see Just Eat Takeaway.com offered additional opportunities such as LED board advertising, potentially further promoting the brand at the tournament next summer.
