Chelsea trio Zecira Musovic, Jonna Andersson and Magda Eriksson have been named in Swedish head coach Peter Gerhardsson’s 25-player squad for the nation’s international friendly matches in April.
Sweden will take on FIFA Women’s World Cup champions, the United States, in Stockholm on Saturday 10 April before travelling to Lodz to face Poland on Tuesday 13 April.
The Swedish Football Association, the SvFF, announced head coach Gerhardsson’s 25-player squad this afternoon with Chelsea’s Swedish trio having all been included. Musovic, Andersson and Eriksson all return to the squad after missing February’s victories over Austria and Malta. The trio were expected to be part of the squad for those games but were made to miss out due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
Goalkeeper Musovic will be hoping for an opportunity to add to her four senior caps. The player has been on the senior international scene since being called-up for the nation’s FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019 qualifying matches.
Defenders Andersson and Eriksson are much more experienced at senior level. Andersson has collected 53 senior caps in which she has scored one goal while Eriksson has represented her nation on 67 occasions and has netted eight goals.
The trio will fly out to link-up with the Swedish squad following Chelsea’s fixture against Birmingham City on Sunday.
