Draw for Vitality Women’s FA Cup fifth round made with two all-FAWSL ties possible

The Football Association have this afternoon confirmed that the draw for the fifth round of this season’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup has been made.

The competition resumed last month following a three-month suspension due to the UK lockdown but the first, second and third round ties have now been completed while the fourth round ties will take place next weekend.

The Football Association have committed to completing all rounds up to and including the fifth round by the end of the season and the fifth round draw has today been made.

The draw has thrown up two potential all-Barclays FA Women’s Super League ties. Manchester City or Aston Villa will host West Ham United should The Hammers defeat Chichester & Selsey this weekend while Chelsea and Everton could meet in a rematch of last season’s quarter-final tie should the pair see off London City Lionesses and Durham respectively.

Elsewhere, Arsenal could face FA Women’s Championship opposition should they get through in the form of Crystal Palace or London Bees while there is the possibility of a Manchester United and Liverpool derby should the two clubs see off Burnley and Leicester City in the fourth round.

The fifth round ties are set to be contested over the weekend of 15-16 May.
