Former Blackburn Rovers midfielder Louise McDaniel has joined NIFL Danske Bank Women’s Premiership side Cliftonville ahead of the start of the new season according to reports on The Reds’ official website.
The 20-year-old Northern Irish international midfielder has most recently been playing her football in the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) with Hearts.
With the NIFL Danske Bank Women’s Premiership season set to start next week it has today been confirmed that McDaniel has joined Cliftonville. The youngster could go straight into John McGrady’s squad for their opener against Derry City at Brandywell next Wednesday.
McDaniel spent five months with former club Blackburn Rovers last season after joining the Lancashire side from Linfield. The player made two substitute appearances for Gemma Donnelly’s side while she was also an unused member of Rovers’ matchday squad on a handful of occasions.
The midfielder joined Rovers after showing plenty of promise early in her career. McDaniel made her senior debut for former club Linfield at just 14 years of age and got some UEFA Women’s Champions League and international experience under her belt. Despite being unable to make a significant impact in England with Rovers, McDaniel will be confident of making her mark back home across the water with latest club Cliftonville.
