PREVIEW: Sheffield United v Liverpool

Two of the form teams in the FA Women’s Championship meet at The Technique Stadium this afternoon as Sheffield United face Liverpool.

Both sides are unbeaten in six league matches with their last defeats coming against champions Leicester City back in January.

Sheffield United go into their last home fixture of the season without goalkeeper Becky Flaherty who opted to leave the club by mutual consent on Friday. Defender Ellie Wilson and midfielder Alethea Paul remain sidelined with their respective injuries, however, both players are making some positive progress.

Liverpool travel to The Technique Stadium without Northern Ireland international Rachel Furness who has been ruled out of action for the remainder of the season with a broken left fibula. Forward Rinsola Babajide is again unlikely to be part of the squad.

The reverse fixture was a tight affair in which Liverpool emerged as 1-0 winners. A Babajide goal after just five minutes was enough to keep the three points on Merseyside and boost The Reds’ promotion push, a challenge which ultimately faded going into the winter.

The latest meeting between Sheffield United and Liverpool in the FA Women’s Championship is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm this afternoon and will be available for fans to stream live via the LFC Women’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels.
