Bristol City’s midfield pair Ella Mastrantonio and Georgia Wilson have been released according to reports on The Robins’ official website.
Australian international Mastrantonio joined Bristol City last summer following a spell with W-League club Western Sydney Wanderers while teenager Wilson came through The Robins’ Regional Talent Centre (RTC).
During the 2020/2021 season, Mastrantonio appeared regularly for Bristol City. The midfielder made 15 appearances in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League while she netted one goal which came in the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa at The Banks’s Stadium last month.
Teammate Wilson has been a member of Bristol City’s senior squad since 2019, however, she has spent this season on the fringes. The youngster made just two Barclays FA Women’s Super League appearances for The Robins, both of which came from the bench. Wilson has been an unused substitute for her side on nine occasions.
Mastrantonio and Wilson are the third and fourth players to leave Bristol City following their relegation to the FA Women’s Championship. Goalkeeper Benedicte Håland has secured a move to Icelandic club Selfoss while forward Ebony Salmon has moved to the United States where she has joined Racing Louisville. Midfielder Ellen Jones has seemingly also said her farewells, although Bristol City are yet to confirm her departure.
