Tottenham Hotspur defender Ria Percival has signed a new one-year deal with the club with an option of a further year.
The 31-year-old New Zealand international defender joined the North Londoners in 2019 and she has gone on to become a valuable member of the Spurs squad.
Spurs reported the news of Percival’s contract extension via their official club website earlier today.
Percival featured in 16 Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixtures for Spurs this season, playing every minute of those games. The player would have made more appearances for the team if not for an injury which impacted her availability towards the end of the campaign.
Born in Basildon, Percival started her senior career in New Zealand with Lynn-Avon United before moving to the United States where she represented FC Indiana and Ottawa Fury. The defender then spent five years playing her football in Germany with FFC Frankfurt and FF USV Jena.
In 2016, Percival moved to Switzerland where she joined FC Basel before finally testing herself in the English game with West Ham United during the 2018/2019 season.
In joining Spurs, Percival went on to represent that club that she has supported from a young age and she will now feature for the club in their next adventure in 2021/2022.
