Manchester United’s Hayley Ladd and Bristol City’s Megan Wynne will return to the Welsh squad for next month’s international challenge match against Scotland in Llanelli.
Ladd missed the April camp with a hamstring injury while fellow midfielder Wynne recently returned to action following a long spell on the sidelines with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.
The Football Association of Wales (FAW) confirmed head coach Gemma Grainger’s 26-player squad for next month’s international challenge match against Scotland via their official website earlier this afternoon. Next month’s match at the Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli will be the first meeting between the two nations in four years.
Welsh head coach Grainger has also again selected Tottenham Hotspur prospect Esther Morgan in her squad while former Reading pair Jess Fishlock and Angharad James will fly over from the United States to attend camp. Chelsea midfielder Sophie Ingle is set to lead the side just weeks after playing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final with her club.
One notable absentee is Liverpool’s Ceri Holland. The free-scoring midfielder has been in excellent form for her club, however, she is currently nursing an injury and will not feature for her country next month.
Wales will take on Scotland in Llanelli on Tuesday 15 June with a kick-off time yet to be agreed.
