Arsenal will take on local rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a North London derby in the quarter-finals of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.
The draw was conducted live on talkSPORT 2’s Women’s Football Weekly by the show’s host Faye Carruthers and former England international Lianne Sanderson this lunchtime.
The Gunners’ meeting with Rehanne Skinner’s Spurs side was the pick of the four ties. Arsenal will be under new management when the pair meet while Spurs are likely to undergo a summer of change with head coach Skinner set to bring in a number of new faces in a bid to bolster her side.
Another intriguing tie sees trophy holders Manchester City take on newly-promoted Leicester City at The Academy Stadium. The Foxes saw off City’s bitter rivals Manchester United 3-2 at The Leigh Sports Village in the fifth round.
Chelsea will travel to St Andrew’s to face a Birmingham City side who will be under the guidance of a new head coach as a result of the recent departure of former boss Carla Ward while Brighton & Hove Albion will host a Charlton Athletic side who will be getting to grips with full-time football.
The four quarter-final ties are set to take place on Wednesday 29 September 2021 and will be available for fans to watch live on the BBC and on the FA Player.
This season’s final at Wembley Stadium Connected by EE is set to be staged on Sunday 5 December and will act as the climax of the competition’s 50th-year anniversary celebrations. The match will kick-off at 3pm and will be broadcast live on BBC One.
