Teenage midfielder Maisie Symonds has signed her first professional contract at Brighton & Hove Albion according to reports on The Seagulls’ official club website.
The 18-year-old made two appearances in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League for The Seagulls this season, both of which came as a substitute against Everton and Manchester United.
Symonds is regarded as one of the brightest young prospects to come off the Brighton & Hove Albion youth production line and the club have today secured her services for next season with the player signing professional terms.
Speaking to Albion’s official media team after agreeing professional terms with Symonds, manager Hope Powell said “Maisie made real progress last season and deserves this opportunity. She trained regularly with the squad and did well when she played at the end of the season.
“She is now on the next step in her journey. She still has a lot to learn but she’s also got a lot to offer and we’re looking forward to seeing her develop.”
Symonds played a small part in Powell’s side recording their best-ever finish in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this season. She will now have her eyes firmly set upon a greater first team role after penning her new deal.
