Former Liverpool boss Vicky Jepson has been named as the new assistant to head coach Rehanne Skinner at Tottenham Hotspur according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 34-year-old returns to the game following a six-month break after leaving former club Liverpool in January.
Jepson fills Spurs’ assistant head coach vacancy which was previously held by Lauren Smith. She departed last month to take up a position of interim head coach at FA Women’s Championship club Bristol City.
Jepson arrives at The Hive with a wealth of experience working both in academy football and in the senior game. She spent nine years working in various roles within Liverpool’s academy system before taking charge of the senior team for two-and-a-half years.
After joining Spurs, Jepson said “I’m really excited about my new role – I’m refreshed, refocused and ready to hit the ground running at this fantastic club.
“I have a good working relationship with Rehanne through her previous work in the England national set-up, where we communicated regularly about players during my time at Liverpool, and I know she’s got an incredible passion for driving things forward at this Club, so I’m delighted to be a part of that and to be working with her on this journey at Spurs.
“By working as an assistant to Rehanne, I’m looking forward to being able to focus more on the coaching side of the game and helping to get the best out of our players on a daily basis.”
Spurs are looking to kick on again in this season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League after finishing in eighth place last term.
